International Day of Archives in BSAMLA

On June 7, 2024, as part of the celebration of the International Day of Archives, an excursion was held for 3rd year students (group No. 3) of the correspondence course of education at the Faculty of History of BSU at the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BSAMLA).

The acquaintance with BSAMLA began with the history of the archive-museum building and continued with a review of the composition of the documents of the funds under the supervision of the leading archivist of the department of information, publication and use of documents T.V. Kekeleva.

Leading archivist of the document preservation department L.Yu. Studzinskaya spoke about the organization of work on state registration of documents. She demonstrated existing accounting forms – fund files, cards and fund sheets and introduced the procedure for filling them out. She paid special attention to organizing the accounting of especially valuable cases and museum items.

The implementation of the theoretical side of the event continued under the leadership of the director of BSAMLA E.A. Makarenko during the lecture: «Organization of the scientific reference apparatus and the use of archival documents.»

Future documentarians had the opportunity to get acquainted with the rich documentary heritage of BSAMLA and deepen their knowledge in the archival field.
