Participation of BSAMLA in the republican action «Vandruy. Adchuy. Get over it»
On June 7, 2024, employees of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BSAMLA) joined the republican action «Vandruy. Adchuy. Come on», which takes place in Belarus from June 3 to June 9.
This event, organized by the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus and the National Tourism Agency, is traditionally held in the first week of summer in order to popularize domestic tourism.
Workers of BSAMLA N.A. Mizon, N.G. Pustilnik-Marchuk, I.G. Maksimovich and V.P. Skok took part in a sightseeing tour of the architectural monument of the 17th century. – the former Bernardine complex, where today the Monastyrsky Hotel and BSAMLA itself are located. Therefore, the excursion, which began in the former Bernardine monastery, whose dungeons keep the secrets of the centuries-old past, smoothly moved to the walls of the no less mysterious building of the Bernardine Church. And here the initiative passed to the employees of BSAMLA, who spoke about the history of the former Bernardine Church, about the work of archivists and researchers who care about the preservation and transmission of the treasury of Belarusian culture to future generations.
During the event, an agreement was reached between neighbors – employees of the hotel complex and the archive-museum – on mutually beneficial cooperation with the goal of popularizing the historical and cultural heritage of Belarus.
