On May 17, 2024, employees of the institution «Zonal State Archive in Slutsk» took part in the evening in memory of Mikhail Marachkovsky «With all my soul»

An evening in memory of Mikhail Marachkovsky was held at the city House of Culture.

Mikhail Vladimirovich Marachkovsky is a native of the village of Starograd, Kormyansky district, Gomel region. He worked as a director of several schools in Belarus. In Slutsk, he headed the education department and directed a boarding school for orphans and children deprived of parental care. He worked as director of the children’s sanatorium «Sluch», deputy director of the sanatorium.

Mikhail Vladimirovich was fond of poetry. Many of his poems have been published on the portal «Stihi.ru». A collection of poems «Kaleidoscope of Life» has been published. Songs based on poems by Mikhail Marachkovsky in the repertoire of creative groups of Slutchina and not only, including the National Academic Folk Choir of the Republic of Belarus named after G.I. Tsitovich.

Warm memories of the poet, teacher, good friend and person at the memorial evening in the Slutsk City House of Culture were shared by the composer and singer of songs from Slutchina Stanislav Korshak, the former deputy chairman of the Slutsk City Executive Committee Valentin Sitnik, the poet and host of Mikhail Marachkovsky’s page on the website Stihi.ru Oleg Starinchik, widow of Mikhail Marakovsky Galina.

The poet’s poems were read at the memorial evening. Songs based on poems by Mikhail Vladimirovich were performed by Vladislav Korshak and creative groups from Slutchina.

Also, as part of the event, employees of the zonal state archive prepared an exhibition using documents from the personal origin of Mikhail Vladimirovich Marachkovsky, where photographs of M.V. from different years were presented. Marachkovsky, a collection of poems, songs, aphorisms «Kaleidoscope of Life» and other interesting documents.
