In the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, a meeting was held in a video conference format between the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus Evgeniy Kovalenko and representatives of organizations and services of the Ministry of Justice system operating in the Central region. To those present, the speaker announced the key points of the speech of the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G.Lukashenko at the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly. He recalled: the capacious and meaningful message was held under the motto «Time has chosen us!»

– The seventh convocation of the Supreme Council is a logical continuation of all those developments to build a strong, independent Belarus that took place in previous years. Now the new constitutional body approves all the main program documents that determine the economic development and security of the country, resolving all strategic issues», the head of the Ministry of Justice emphasized.

It was noted that another important task of the Supreme Council is to resolve personnel issues: the election of judges of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts, members of the Central Election Commission. The All-Belarusian People’s Assembly has been given the right to decide on introducing a state of emergency or martial law, recognizing the legitimacy of the elections. All decisions of the Assembly occupy the highest position in the hierarchy of national legal acts and have acquired a generally binding character. The Supreme Council received exclusive powers to suspend decisions of any government agencies or officials; it became a protective buffer against possible dangerous processes that run counter to the interests of society and the state.

Evgeniy Kovalenko recalled that at the national meeting, the most important strategic planning documents – the National Security Concept and the Military Doctrine – were discussed and approved. They reflect key changes in the global military-political situation, national views on maintaining international peace and stability, ensuring the military security of the state and its armed defense.

During the online meeting, Evgeniy Iosifovich assessed the work of services and organizations of the Ministry of Justice system in the Minsk region, heard reports from managers, and identified a number of tasks for each area of activity.

– In general, if we talk about the tasks facing the Ministry of Justice system, including in the Minsk region, then the priority here is efficiency, the introduction of digitalization, improvement of methodological work, high-quality protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, society and the state – especially in Year of quality. As for the archival industry, it is important to strengthen information and educational work and develop the material and technical base», the head of the department summed up.
