Events dedicated to Victory Day at the Zonal State Archive in Lida

On 05/08/2024, on the eve of Victory Day, the state archive held a solemn event «Hero of My Family» and the opening of two thematic exhibitions «Hero of My Family» and «Heroes-Liberators». State archive employees prepared and presented a presentation for the exhibition «Dedicated to the Liberator Heroes…».

The «Hero of My Family» event was traditionally prepared by archive staff with the participation of their children. The necessary information, photographs were collected, slides and speeches were prepared about the participants in the war. Parents, together with their children, spoke about their family members who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, about their hard military labor, injuries, awards, paying tribute, gratitude and memory to those who brought Victory Day closer. After the ceremony, archive staff and children laid flowers at the mass grave of Soviet soldiers in the city park.
