On conducting lessons for Victory Day by specialists of the Zonal State Archive in Kobrin

On May 8, 2024, on the eve of Victory Day and as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, specialists from the Zonal State Archives in Kobrin conducted lessons for pupils of kindergarten No.2 in Kobrin and students of grade 8 «A» at the Kobrin gymnasium.

In the kindergarten, preschool children were shown archival copies of documents from participants in the Great Patriotic War. State archive specialists spoke about the exploits and military awards of veterans S.A.Commandant, I.G.Styrikovich and N.T.Sviridyuk.

For eighth-graders, archivists conducted a lesson «This Victory Day!», during which they talked about the last days of the Great Patriotic War and the celebration of Victory Day; prepared a quiz called «Let’s remember the war». The guys gave the correct answers to all the quiz questions.

The schoolchildren also got acquainted with the poster exhibition «Glory to the victorious warrior!», which is on display in the reading room of the state archive. The students were especially interested in the memories of veterans, their award lists and order books, certificates for medals, and photographs presented at this exhibition.
