Conducting a lesson for 6th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.4 named after D.V. Kazakevich in Grodno» as part of the «Archives to School» event at the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region»

On April 26, 2024, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, the institution «State Archive of the Grodno Region» held a lesson on the topic «Archival work in the Grodno region» for 6th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.4 named after D.V.Kazakevich, Grodno».

Archive staff told schoolchildren about the history of the State Archives of the Grodno Region, the history of the creation of the archive, its structure and main areas of activity. The students were presented with the most interesting and valuable documents stored in the archive. During the lesson, the children got acquainted with the exhibitions of documents on the events of the Great Patriotic War on display in the reading room, as well as with collections of documentary materials prepared with the participation of the State Archives of the Grodno Region.

The lesson ended with a sightseeing tour of the archives, during which schoolchildren were told about the conditions and features of document storage.
