Participation of Central Laboratory specialists in the international round table «Restoration of documents from the Great Patriotic War»

On April 22, employees of the state institution «Central Laboratory for the Preservation of Documents of the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Belarus» took part in events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, held on the basis of the National Library of Belarus.

During the international round table «Restoration of documents from the Great Patriotic War,» employees of leading libraries, museums and specialized laboratories in Belarus and Russia shared their professional experience in the field of restoration and preservation of documents and books on paper.

The employees of the Central Laboratory already have successful experience in rescuing documents from the V.I. Lenin partisan brigade, discovered in June 2023 in a forest in the vicinity of the village of Gotsk, Soligorsk district, and therefore showed genuine interest in the organized master classes: «Restoration of a newspaper from the times of the Great Patriotic War» (National Library of Belarus), «Restoration of handwritten letters from the times of the Great Patriotic War» (All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I. Rudomino).

Such events contribute to a fruitful exchange of experience with colleagues and the establishment of new professional connections.
