The first film lecture in the city of Mogilev
April 11, 2024 at the Chyrvonaya Zorka cinema in Mogilev as part of the «Open Film Archive project. We brought this day closer as best we could»a film lecture was held for students of state educational institutions «Secondary school No.4 of Mogilev», «Secondary school No.40 of Mogilev», «Gymnasium No 2 of Mogilev» and the social and humanitarian college of the educational institution «Mogilev State University named after A.A.Kuleshov», prepared by the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents» (Dzerzhinsk), were shown.
Before the start of the session, the leading archivist of the department for the scientific use of documents and information of the State Archive of the Mogilev Region Alexander Petukhov spoke to the audience. He spoke about the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could», which is carried out in pursuance of the Plan for the preparation and holding of festive events for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus, approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of October 5, 2023 No.316. He announced information about human losses during the war years, about material damage caused to Belarus by the Nazi invaders during the years of occupation, and documents stored in the institution «State Archive of the Mogilev Region» on the topic «Restoration of the city of Mogilev in 1944-1950» were also presented.
At the end of his speech, Alexander Petukhov informed the audience about the subsequent planned film lectures in cinemas in Mogilev from April to June 2024, which will be implemented during the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could».
