A memory lesson «Ozarichi – unhealing pain and memory» was held at the State Academy of Educational Institutions with students of the state educational institution «Secondary School No. 3 of Gomel named after D.N. Penyazkova»

On March 18, 2024, as part of the republican action «Archives to School» and the pilot project «Young Archivist», employees of the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region» conducted a memory lesson «Ozarichi – unhealing pain and memory», with students of the state educational institution «Secondary School» No. 3 of Gomel named after D.N. Penyazkova.»

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of prisoners of the Ozarichi death camp, a documentary film «10 days of hell» about the Ozarichi camp was shown to students with the memories of prisoners about those terrible days, with documentary evidence from historians and museum workers.

Under the guidance of archivists from the information, publication and use of documents sector, schoolchildren studied archival documents testifying to the brutal ordeals that befell civilians in Belarusian Polesie in March 1944.

At the end of the event, the archivists answered numerous questions from students and conducted a sightseeing tour of the archives.
