Excursion for employees of the education system to the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents

On March 14, the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents hosted an excursion for school principals, heads of the Children and Youth Creativity Centers of the Minsk Region, school teachers. Leading archivist of the department of state accounting and scientific reference apparatus, Olga Fedorovna Chernenko, introduced the guests to the specifics of the work of the archive of film, photo and sound documents.

During the excursion, visitors were introduced to the types of media for audiovisual documents, learned about the history of the development of archival science, about the earliest documents in the BGAKFFD collections, as well as about the possibilities of searching for information using the scientific and reference apparatus of the archive.

The guests were shown the work to ensure the safety of film, photo and sound documents: restoration, conservation, and disinfection.
At the end of the excursion, the guests shared their impressions and wished the archive staff professional success and prosperity.
