A single lesson dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the tragedy in the village of Ola, «Ola is the sister of Khatyn»

On January 12, 2024, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, a single lesson dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the tragedy in the village of Ola, «Ola is the sister of Khatyn», was held at the state educational institution «Oktyabrskaya Basic School of Zhlobin District» with students in grades 4-9 with the goal deepening students’ knowledge about the historical past of the Belarusian people, forming ideas about the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.

During the Unified Lesson, students were told about the tragedy in Khatyn, about villages that have a similar history, including the village of Ola, Parichsky district (now Svetlogorsk district).

Archive employee I.N. Eliseeva documents were presented that tell about the crimes committed by the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War, revealing the essence, nature and consequences of the occupation regime.
