Conducting practical classes with future historian-archivists in the Central Laboratory
In the state institution «Central Laboratory for Ensuring the Preservation of Documents of the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Belarus», special attention is paid to work on professional guidance and strengthening the personnel potential of the institution.
As part of the ongoing campaign «Archives for School» and the agreement reached with the Department of Source Studies, practical classes in the academic discipline «Fundamentals of microfilming and restoration of paper-based documents» with 4th year students of the History and Archives Department of the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University are carried out on the basis of the laboratory.
On November 8, during practical classes in this discipline, future historians-archivists had a unique opportunity to receive individual consultations on issues of interest from qualified laboratory specialists.
The students showed the greatest interest in the issues of microbiological examination of archival documents, as well as in the methods used in the laboratory for digitizing and microfilming documents.
