The State Archive of the Minsk Region was visited by students of the Novopol State Agrarian and Economic College

On November 3, 2023, as part of the “Archives for School” campaign, a sightseeing tour was held in the State Archive of the Minsk Region for students of the Novopolsk State Agrarian and Economic College, specializing in “Documentation Management”.

During the excursion, the children learned about the history of the development of archival science in Belarus and the formation of the State Archive of the Minsk Region, and became acquainted with the main activities of the institution at the present time. The demonstration of unique documents from the state archives aroused keen interest among students.

The guests also visited the archive storage facility, where they saw how documents are stored and became familiar with the requirements for the conditions of their storage. College students learned about the importance of preserving documents as the historical and cultural written heritage of the state.

The final point of the excursion was a visit to the digitization, restoration and binding department, where the children had the opportunity to observe the work of archivists in restoring an archival document.
