Employees of the State Archive of the Vitebsk Region took part in a thematic event
The memorial evening «Journalist, writer, patriot» for the 100th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Khazansky was held at the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V.I.Lenin.
Khazansky Vladimir Yakovlevich (1923-1989) worked for the newspaper «Chyrvonaya Zmena» for more than forty years. Based on research and real stories of witnesses to military events, he wrote the books «Ask the Birches», «ASYA» about the courage and heroism of the underground during the Great Patriotic War. In his essay «It Was Near Vitebsk,» he spoke for the first time about the Obol underground organization, which included children and teenagers. Among them is Zina Portnova.
Letters and photographs of Vladimir Khazansky are available in the documents of the personal fund «David Grigorievich Simanovich – poet, prose writer, member of the Union of Belarusian Writers,» which is stored in the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region.
