Conducting a lesson for students as part of the «Archives for School» campaign

As part of the «Archives for School» campaign, the first visitors to the State Archives of the Grodno region in the new academic year were students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 7 in Grodno». A lesson was held for the children on the topic «The role of archives in the preservation of historical heritage».

During the lesson, the students got acquainted with the history of the State Archives of the Grodno Region and the specifics of the work of archivists, learned about the main activities of the institution. The most valuable and unique documentary materials stored in the archive were presented to the attention of the children.

The students were shown exhibitions of documents «There was a people’s war. Partisans and underground workers of the Grodno region», «Not subject to oblivion», «We brought this day closer as best we could…», as well as collections of documents and materials prepared with the participation of the State Archive of the Grodno region.

The students were given a tour of the archive, during which they visited the laboratory for the restoration, binding and repair of documents, as well as the archives.
