On the participation of employees of the National Archives in the presentation of the database «Permyaks – participants in the partisan movement»

July 27, 2023 Deputy Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (NARB) E.V. Kushnova and head of the publications department, Ph.D. S.V. Kulinok took part in the presentation of the database “Permyaks – participants in the partisan movement”, which took place online.

The director of the Perm State Archive of Socio-Political History (PermGASPI) S.V. addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Neganov. He pointed out the importance of work to preserve the historical memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War, and also noted the close scientific and cultural ties and interaction between PermGASPI and NARB.

E.V. Kushnova spoke about the implementation of the project to create the Internet portal “Partisans of Belarus”. She noted that today the portal database contains information about more than 500 natives of Perm and the Perm Territory who fought in the forests of occupied Belarus.

“To personify partisan heroes, to preserve and perpetuate the Memory of these people, to convey it to the younger rising generation, to instill in the modern generation a sense of patriotism, duty and responsibility through an example of courage and heroism – these are just a few of the tasks that the Internet portal is already solving” Partisans of Belarus,” the deputy director of the NARB pointed out in her speech.

Head of the NARB Publications Department S.V. Kulinok spoke about the composition of partisan documents: their species diversity and informative potential. In more detail, the speaker dwelled on the composition of the personnel documentation of the Belarusian headquarters of the partisan movement.

As part of the presentation, copies of archival documents, including those from the NARB funds, were handed over to the relatives of partisan A.A. Kulikov. In 1942, his relatives received a funeral for him, and in 1943, a notice of his being in captivity. For a long time he was branded a “traitor”. However, in the documents of the NARB, materials were found about his participation in the partisan movement on the territory of the Vileika region. A.A. died Kulikov by the death of the brave in January 1944 in a battle with the invaders.
