«Archives for School»: excursions for students of the state educational institution «Secondary school No. 17 of Mogilev»

During the summer holidays, the institution «State Archive of the Mogilev Region» was visited by students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 17 of Mogilev». The event was held as part of the «Archives for School» campaign.

In the reading room of the archive, the head of the department for the scientific use of documents and information, Olga Trotskaya, and the archivist of the 1st qualification category, Alexander Petukhov, introduced the children to the history of the archive, the specifics of the work of archivists. An exhibition of the most interesting documents from archival funds was presented for schoolchildren.

The students also visited the laboratory for digitizing documents on a sightseeing tour, where they were able to see the process of scanning and digital processing of archival files. And then they visited the archives, where they got acquainted with the composition of the stored documents, the conditions and mode of their storage.
