Conducting lectures on the topic «It was recently, it was a long time ago» by employees of the «Zonal State Archive in Orsha» within the framework of the «Archives for School» campaign

On May 22, 2023, within the framework of the Republican campaign “Archives to School” and events dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation, with students of the 9th grade of the state educational institution “Gymnasium No. 1 of Orsha”, the archive workers held an information hour on the topic: “It was recently, it was a long time ago…”, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the creation of the military-patriotic club of UNESCO “Rusichi” in the city of Orsha.

During this event, the children got acquainted with the activities of the club: the search for the dead and missing soldiers of the Great Patriotic War, their reburial and the establishment of monuments, the military-patriotic education of the younger generation, participation in archaeological excavations, the restoration of Orthodox churches and temples, archival research activities, culture and sports activities, international cooperation, etc.

For all the years of the existence of the Rusichi club, the attitude towards such values as the Fatherland, patriotism, Motherland, duty, honor has never changed. From year to year, the club proved in practice that positive results in military-patriotic education are achieved only by studying and understanding the history of one’s country and one’s people!
