Participation in the round table dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Yanka Mavr

On May 15, 2023, the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature hosted a round table dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the famous writer, classic of adventure and sci-fi genres, Yanka Mavr. The event was attended by representatives of museum, scientific, educational, publishing institutions, writers. The role and significance of Yanka Mavr in literature, the issues of perpetuating the memory of the prose writer, popularizing his work, publishing previously unknown texts, and prospects for a new scientifically commented collection of works were discussed.

The Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art was represented by the leading researcher Viktor Zhibul, who spoke about the fund of Yanka Mavra in BGAMLI, his interesting correspondence with his contemporaries, and the local history potential of the writer’s documentary essays.
