Employees of the State Archives of the Vitebsk region took part in a patriotic event – a meeting with the participants of the «Fire of Memory» motor rally
The rally dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War started on April 30 from the Victory Museum in Moscow.
The action takes place on the initiative of the Russian public movement «The Fire of Memory» in the Brest, Vitebsk, Grodno and Minsk regions (Republic of Belarus) and Moscow, Pskov, Smolensk and Tver regions (Russian Federation). Participants visited more than forty places of military glory.
The campaign is held annually on the eve of May 9th. This year more than 60 people take part in the rally. The length of the automobile route will be more than 2.5 thousand km.
In Vitebsk, on May 5, 2023, the participants were met on Victory Square near the Three Bayonets memorial complex. Among those meeting were employees of the State Archives of the Vitebsk region.
The symbolic moment of the event was the transfer of a piece of fire from Poklonnaya Gora.
The participants of the action honored the victims of the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence and laid flowers.
