Employees of the Department for Archives and Paperwork of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus and republican archival institutions took part in the republican action «Belarus Remembers. We remember everyone»

May 5, 2023 within the framework of the republican action «Belarus remembers. We remember everyone» the heads of the Department for Archives and Records Management, headed by Director O.L. Voinov, and the republican archival institutions organized an event to lay flowers at the military cemetery in Minsk.

The military cemetery of Minsk is a historical monument, one of the oldest in the city, founded in 1840 at a hospital for military personnel. On its territory there are burial places of participants in the battles of the Great Patriotic War, Belarusian partisans, prominent figures of science and culture, a monument to the Unknown Soldier. The Church of the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky, built in the 19th century, operates here.

Director of the Department O.L. Voinov, addressing those present, emphasized the importance and importance of preserving in the memory of the citizens of Belarus the unparalleled feat of the people in numerous wars on Belarusian lands, the heroism and courage of the fallen soldiers, as well as the role and special responsibility of the tasks facing the archival industry – to preserve historical truth based on documentary evidence, to convey it to future generations, to prevent falsification and distortion of Belarusian history, including one of its most tragic and heroic periods – the Great Patriotic War.
