As part of the «Archives for School» campaign, a lecture was held at the Rechitsa Agricultural College on the topic «In the epicenter of Chernobyl»

On April 26, on the day of the 37th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, employees of the Zonal State Archive in Rechitsa informed 2-3 year students of the Rechitsa State Agrarian College about how the then employees of the archive evacuated and decontaminated the documents of enterprises and organizations affected by the disaster in the Bragin and Khoiniki regions. On the example of the documents collected by the archive, the biography of the firefighter-liquidator Vasily Ignatenko, a native of the Bragin district, is presented.

In continuation of the topic, the students were presented with archival documents and materials on the Chernobyl tragedy from the funds and library of the archive: decisions on the liquidation of collective farms, maps of radioactive contamination, newspaper articles, photographs and scientific publications.
