«Chernobyl is our common pain»

April 14, 2023 The Zonal State Archive in Kobrin, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign and the Year of Peace and Creation, was visited by students of class 9 “B” of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 4 of Kobrin».

A lesson was held for schoolchildren, timed to coincide with the 37th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Together with the staff of the archive, we talked about the causes of the disaster, its environmental and medical consequences. The children were shown archival documents and articles from newspapers, which contain the memories of eyewitnesses who participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the disaster.

As part of the event, a tour of the archive was held, which traditionally included a brief excursion into the history and information about the main activities of the archive, a visit to the archive.
