Seeing off the well-deserved rest of the honorary archivist of Belarus

On April 4, 2023, the staff of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art gathered together to celebrate the «Day of Valentina Egorovna Danekina» – an honorary archivist, head of the department for the scientific description of documents of personal origin, to thank her for her extremely painstaking 46-year work in the archive, to wish new productive stage of life.
Thanks to the encyclopedic knowledge of literature and art, erudition, natural inquisitiveness and prudence, Valentina Egorovna has become one of the well-known specialists in the description of personal funds in the Republic of Belarus.
During this period, she carried out scientific processing of more than 50 funds and collections of personal origin. She took part in the preparation of annotations for three editions of the «Guide to the BSAMLI funds», in the development of methodological manuals, in scientific conferences, published scientific and popular science articles on the history of Belarusian literature and art. For her personal contribution to the development of archives, Valentina Egorovna was repeatedly awarded with thanks and diplomas.
The previous director of the archive, Anna Vyacheslavovna Zapartyka, and the famous historian Anatoly Mikhailovich Sidorevich have joined the BGAMLI team today. Thanks to everyone present, the day dedicated to Valentina Egorovna was filled with words of gratitude, warm memories and touching stories.
