Employees of the National Historical Archives of Belarus took part in an international scientific conference

On March 23–24, 2023, Minsk hosted the VI International Scientific Conference «The Legacy of the Great Modernization: «The Long 19th Century» in the History of Belarus and Eastern Europe», organized by the Department of Economic History of the Belarusian State Economic University in cooperation with the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus , Republican Institute of Higher Education and St. Petersburg State University of Economics.

The conference was devoted to the history of Eastern Europe in the period of the late 18th – early 20th centuries, cultural anthropology, political science and other areas of social and humanitarian knowledge. Specialists from Minsk, Vitebsk, Grodno, Brest and the Brest region, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Belgorod and Tula took part in the conference.

The National Historical Archives of Belarus was represented at the conference by the leading researchers of the Research and Publication Department Sergey Ryndin and Oksana Zenko, who made presentations on the topics respectively «The use of foreign labor on the territory of Belarus during the First World War» and «Organization of excursions for students of Vilenskaya educational circle and ў cants of the 19th century – a patch of the 20th century». It is based on historical documents stored in the NIA of Belarus, so they aroused a legitimate interest among the participants of the conference, and the staff of the NIA of Belarus answered numerous questions.
