Members of the primary trade union organization of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art visited the National Center for Contemporary Art
On March 16, 2023, members of the primary trade union organization of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art visited the exhibitions «Plus/Minus 100: Folk Master Anniversaries» and «Jazz! Cats! Spring!» at the National Center for Contemporary Art of the Republic of Belarus.
Krishtapovich Sergey Evgenievich, a talented artist, director of the National Center for Contemporary Arts, became a guide to the world of craftsmanship on this day for the employees of the archive-museum. He sincerely and interestingly spoke about the creative figures whose works are presented in the halls of the center.
Of particular interest were the works of Belarusian artists-anniversaries: Gavriil Vashchenko, Alexander Kishchenko, Viktor Gromyko, Leonid Shchemelev and others. Folklore, the connection of generations, familiar motifs of the contrast between the village and the city, current topics of those times (most of the works in the exhibition date back to the 1970s-1990s) – all this is presented at the exhibition in a wide variety of genres.
The employees of the archive-museum, who were personally acquainted with the artists, told interesting stories, shared their memories, information about the artists’ workshops.
At the end of the meeting, Sergey Evgenievich gave a tour of the «Jazz! Cats! Spring!», which impressed with a variety of colors, styles and even materials.
