On the meeting of archivists of the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region» with students of the 9th grade of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 17 of Gomel named after Francisco de Miranda»

On March 15, 2023, a thematic lesson «We are proud of our country» was held for 9th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 17 of Gomel named after Francisco de Miranda» dedicated to the Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus.

During the event, the archivists reminded the schoolchildren of the history of the creation of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the changes made to it, its purpose and role in modern society. The guys studied the structure of the Constitution, discussed the basic rights, freedoms and obligations of citizens of the Republic of Belarus, and also took part in the quiz «Do you know the Law?».

In addition, the staff of the archive dwelled in detail on Art. 15 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus «The state ensures the preservation of historical truth and memory of the heroic deed of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War».

In conclusion, a tour of the archive was held, during which the children got acquainted with the main areas of its work, and visited the exhibition of archival documents and photographs «Heroes of the Gomel Land», which is exhibited in the reading room of the State Archive.
