Temporary exhibition «Tolstoy and Belarus»

Until May 26, 2023, the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature has a temporary exhibition «Tolstoy and Belarus» – a joint project with the State Museum of Leo Tolstoy in Moscow, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art, the National Academic Bolshoi Theater of Opera and Ballet of the Republic Belarus and the State Museum of the History of Theater and Musical Culture.

The exhibition is dedicated to the connection of the famous Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, who turns 195 this year, with our country, as well as the influence of his work on Belarusian writers of the 20th century. The exhibition presents interesting materials from the collections of the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature, unpublished archival materials presented by the State Museum of Leo Tolstoy. From the funds of the archive-museum, the exhibition presents works by L. N. Tolstoy translated by Y. Bryl, I. Shamyakin, V. Vitka, articles about the writer, sketches of scenery and the program of the play «The Power of Darkness» and other documents.
