Opening of a virtual exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Belproekt Institute
On February 25, 2023, the oldest design institute of the Republic of Belarus turns 90 years old. For several decades, the organization has been engaged in the integrated design of urban and civil construction projects, the development of standard and experimental projects, and the design of engineering equipment for cities.
The Belarusian State Design Institute “Belgosproekt” was established on February 25, 1933 by the Decree of the Council of People’s Commissars of the BSSR No. 210 on the basis of the design bureau and the State Institute of Urban Planning Design “Giprogor”.
Such well-known architects as V. M. Aladov, M. I. Baklanov, V. N. Varaksin, G. V. Zaborsky, I. G. Langbarda, G. V. Sysoev, V. A. Korol worked in the design organization and others. It was they who were engaged in the feasibility study of the restoration, reconstruction and development of cities and towns of the BSSR after the Great Patriotic War.
In the Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation, there is a fund No. 3 “Leased enterprise“ Institute “Belproekt”, Minsk”, which includes 13,522 storage units for the period 1932-1990.
