The memory of the Afghan war is alive!
On February 15, 2023, on the 34th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, employees of the Zonal State Archives in Zhlobin congratulated the worker of the state archive, an Afghan soldier, Martynenko V.F. Happy International Soldiers Memorial Day.
Director Dudareva G.A., leading archivist Chikileva S.V., and building maintenance worker Martynenko V.F. took part in the meeting-requiem «Let’s remember everyone by name», which was held near the memorial sign to the fallen countrymen – soldiers-internationalists on Metallurgists Boulevard.
In honor of those who did not return from the war, and the soldiers-internationalists who passed away already in peacetime, Zhlobin residents froze in a moment of silence. Then flowers were laid to the memorial sign.
