On the participation of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents» in the opening of a museum exposition dedicated to Mikhail Ptashuk in secondary school No. 224 in Minsk

Mikhail Nikolaevich Ptashuk is a Belarusian director who managed to spread the wings of the national cinema. His adaptations of the works of V. Bykov, I. Shamyakin, V. Bogomolov have become classics of cinema, the standard of directorial and acting work. For his creative biography, our compatriot made more than 30 films.

Mikhail Ptashuk created films of various genres – from adventure television series to deeply psychological films. In each film based on the works of Belarusian writers, there was a particle of himself.

More than one generation of viewers has been brought up on the director’s creative heritage, and today’s youth does not stand aside. On February 6, a museum room dedicated to Mikhail Ptashuk was opened at secondary school No. 224 in Minsk. The place was not chosen by chance – the school is located on the street named after the master of feature films.

Relatives and friends of Mikhail Ptashuk were invited to the solemn event: daughter Anzhelika Ptashuk, People’s Artist of Belarus Vladimir Gostyukhin, Honored Art Worker Valery Anisenko. The stories and memoirs of people who knew Mikhail Nikolayevich closely revealed him as a kind, sympathetic person, a wonderful storyteller and a hospitable host.

When creating the museum exposition, documents from the funds of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents» (hereinafter – BGAKFFD) were used: 25 units of photo documents and 7 units of video documents with a total duration of 9 minutes. All documents show moments from the filming of films, director’s work, memories of family and friends. In his speech, the director of the BGAKFFD Andrey Nikolaevich Gonchar noted the high spirituality of the works of Mikhail Ptashuk, which is so necessary for educating the younger generation.

Also, as a result of the meeting, a number of agreements were reached with the leadership of secondary school No. 224 and the education department of the Leninsky district on joint projects and events.
