HISTORICAL MEMORY AND FILM DOCUMENTS (press release)
On February 14, at 14.00, the Yanka Kupala Central Library will host a presentation of a new scientific publication by the Center for Research on Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

A new monograph by the candidate of art history K.I. Remishevsky «The Enemy’s Merciless Fierce Revenge!»: Film Chronicle and Film Magazine «Savetskaya Belarus» of the Fiery Years (June 1941 – November 1945)» introduces the results of an in-depth study of chronicle film material of the war years, the results of newsreel creativity of front-line cameramen-Belarusians, the evolution of creative production and organizational and managerial approaches in the documentary segment of cinematography in 1941–1945.
The publication provides fundamentally new information about the events that ensured the revival of the national film magazine «Savetskaya Belarus» in the summer of 1942, as well as the creative and production aspects of the work of the Belarusian Newsreel Studio during its temporary stay in Moscow (1942–1944).
The program includes a speech by the candidate of art history Konstantin Igorevich Remishevsky, the director of the archive of film and photo documents Andrey Nikolayevich Gonchar.
