On the presentation of exhibitions within the framework of the final collegium of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus
On February 9, 2023, as part of the final collegium of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, the National Archives presented three exhibitions for members and participants of the collegium.
The exhibition «Heraldry of Modern Belarus» is dedicated to the territorial heraldry of Belarus. It presents in full the coats of arms and flags of regions, districts, cities, urban settlements and some villages, which were established by decrees of the Head of State and included in the State Heraldic Register of the Republic of Belarus.
The presented mobile interactive exhibition «Partisans of Belarus» is a joint project of the National Archives and the Publishing House «Belarus Today», the main purpose of which is to perpetuate the memory of the heroes of the partisans, underground fighters. Remembering each of them, we appreciate the Great Victory. The generation of our contemporaries should remember their veteran ancestors, as well as those who did not return from the war, giving their lives so that today we can live and develop in peace. For the development and filling of the Internet portal «Partisans of Belarus» by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated December 30, 2022 No. 453 for significant work on the formation of public consciousness, popularization of the history of the partisan and underground movement of Belarus, the Publishing House «Belarus Segodnya» and the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus were awarded special award. In recent years, students of schools, colleges, higher educational institutions, representatives of public organizations, and government officials have had the opportunity to get acquainted with the traveling exhibition. On the day of summing up the results of work for 2022, representatives of the system of the Ministry of Justice were also able to get acquainted with the exhibition and, even using a mobile interactive stand, find their relatives in the database, see copies of archival documents – personal personnel records, award sheets, etc. So, information Filipchik Natalia Viktorovna, head of the legal department of the Main Directorate of Justice of the Minsk City Executive Committee, saw information about her grandfather-partisan Latysh Georgy Aleksandrovich through an interactive stand, Sharay Lyudmila Vyacheslavovna, head of the Compulsory Enforcement Department of the Borisovsky District of the Main Directorate of Justice of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, learned information about her great-grandfather, partisan Dakuta Vladimir, and Gromadskaya Lyudmila Valentinovna, the head of the Mozyr inter-district department of compulsory execution of the Main Department of Justice of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, discovered documents about her grandfather – partisan Denis Pagranovsky.
The members of the collegium were interested in the exhibition of book editions of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus and the National Historical Archives of Belarus. Of particular interest were the latest editions of the National Archives «Without a statute of limitations. Belarus» is a series of books in 6 volumes about the facts of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War and «The Holocaust in Belarus. Tragedy and memory.»
