Exhibition «85 years of creation and development. Gomel Region» was prepared by the staff of the State Archives of the Gomel Region
The staff of the institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» (GAGom) got acquainted with the exhibition «85 years of creation and development. Gomel Region» prepared by the staff of the archive on the basis of archival documents, timed to coincide with the Year of Peace and Creation and the 100th anniversary of the formation of the GAGom.
In his opening speech, Director of the archive Sushchevich Andrei Nikolayevich noted that the history of the formation of the Gomel region contains many interesting facts. The prepared archival documents and photographs depict people and events that left a deep mark on the history of its formation.
The exhibition presents more than 35 documents and photographs, revealing the period of formation of the Gomel region.
The staff of the archive had a unique opportunity within the walls of the GAG once again to get acquainted with the richest history of our Small Motherland.
For ease of perception, the exhibition is divided into blocks. Each archival document in the exposition contains a brief annotation that allows you to independently flip through the pages of those ancient events in the history of its formation.
Andrei Nikolayevich stressed that such meetings are important and necessary for us, it is necessary to preserve the historical memory of our country. The memory of generations, as a link, only makes us stronger.
In addition, on January 27, 2023, as part of the information day, a meeting of archive workers was held in the reading room of the SAG.

Andrei Nikolaevich noted that President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the residents of Vitebsk, Gomel, Minsk and Mogilev regions on the 85th anniversary of the formation of the regions.
The President emphasized that the Gomel region is home to skilled, industrious, courageous people who are infinitely devoted to the Motherland. He drew attention to the fact that the Gomel region is the largest in Belarus in terms of territory, rich in natural and intellectual resources, oil and gas are extracted, pulp and agricultural machinery are produced, and many promising investment projects are being implemented.
