Excursion in the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents for Grade 9 Students State Educational Institution «Gymnasium of Fanipol»

On January 23, in the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents», within the framework of the action «Archives for School» and events dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation, an excursion was held for 9th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Fanipol Gymnasium».

During the event, the leading archivist of the department for the use of documents and information Maria Dmitrievna Romanova told the students about the history of the development of the BGAKFFD, the composition and features of document storage.

The students visited the reading room of the archive, where they got acquainted with various carriers of documents, as well as a collection of photographs from the album of A.M. Bogomolov. Of particular interest was the story about the possibilities of searching for information with the help of the scientific reference apparatus of the archive. Also, the visitors of the archive were shown the work of the department of technical control and the laboratory of restoration of documents.

Schoolchildren could see with their own eyes the work of archivists of these departments, aimed at preserving documents from the BGAKFFD fund. In the cinema hall of the archive, a screening of the film «Countdown. Belarusian space. Secret topic» about the Belarusian cosmonautics.
