Photo project «Dzerzhinsk: BEFORE and AFTER» for the 85th anniversary of the Minsk region and the Year of Peace and Creation

On January 15, 2023, the Minsk region celebrated its 85th anniversary. Dozens of various creative projects dedicated to the history and modernity of the Central region have become a gift to the Minsk region.

On the initiative of the asset of the primary organization of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union of the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents and with the participation of the Dzerzhinsky District Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, a photo project «Dzerzhinsk: BEFORE and AFTER» was created. In social networks, you can now find rare footage of the past years of the Dzerzhinsky District and compare it with the modern look of the same objects.

Archive profile on Instagram has been chosen as a platform for demonstrating photo documents of the Dzerzhinsk: BEFORE and AFTER project. Accessibility, the ability to reach a wide audience, ease of posting and commenting on materials were the guarantee of the success of the project.

It’s not just history in photographs. The project is designed to emphasize the spiritual connection of generations, the tireless work and achievements of fathers and grandfathers, which modern youth should preserve and increase. This project acquires a special sound and relevance in the Year of Peace and Creation.

The project is planned to be developed in the future: the organizers hope that the inhabitants of the region will connect to such an unusual format for presenting the history of their small homeland. The result of this project will be a full-fledged exhibition exposition at various venues in the Republic of Belarus.
