Employees of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus discussed the application of new legislation
The amendments introduced by the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated November 25, 2011 No. 323-Z “On archiving and record keeping in the Republic of Belarus” resulted in changes and additions to almost all regulatory legal acts on archiving and record keeping.
On October 27, 2022, the Rules for the operation of state archives, approved by the Decree of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus dated August 31, 2022 No. 119, came into force.
The employees of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus discussed the application of the new legislative norms during a series of methodological meetings held in the archive from 10/28/2022 to 12/15/2022.
Deputy Director of the Archive E.A. Stukanova spoke about the changes made to the Law on Archiving and Paperwork, and what other regulatory legal acts have been revised.
The head of the department of scientific and technical processing of documents, O.V. Skomoroshchenko, held a meeting on the examination of the value of documents, spoke about changes in the terms of storage of documents.
N.S. Nartovskaya, head of the department for ensuring the safety of documents and funds, reported on changes in the field of document preservation.
E.A. Makarenko, Head of the Department of Information Retrieval Systems, highlighted the innovations in accounting for archival documents and the development of a scientific reference apparatus.
Changes in legislation on the use of archival documents, the work of the reading room of the archive were announced by the head of the department for the use of documents and information, M.A. Starostenko.
Issues of archive acquisition, provision of methodological assistance to organizations-sources of acquisition of the National Archives were discussed under the leadership of the head of the department of office work and the formation of the National Archival Fund T. Shevchenko. Irina V. Dorogush, Head of the Department of Personal Origin Funds, reflected in her speech the specifics of completing the archive with documents of personal origin.
The final event to familiarize with the innovations of legislation in the field of archiving and office work, which took place in 2022, was the participation of employees of the National Archives on December 15, 2022 in the seminar “Topical issues of electronic document management and archival storage of electronic documents. Working with personal data”, organized by the Belarusian Research Center for Electronic Documentation.
