Forum «No statute of limitations. The genocide of the Soviet people by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War» takes place in Gatchina
From November 21 to November 22, 2022, in Gatchina, Leningrad Region, the International Scientific and Practical Forum «Without a statute of limitations. The genocide of the Soviet people by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War: historical reflection and judicial practice».
The opening of the forum is timed to coincide with the next anniversary of the Nuremberg Tribunal – the «Court of Nations», where the basic principles of responsibility for crimes against humanity were laid down. The forum brings together public and government figures, media, historians, archivists, lawyers, educators and cultural workers from Russia and the CIS countries.
This event is aimed at preserving historical memory and the truth about the key events of the Great Patriotic War, which are of paramount importance in modern times, at forming in the public mind a sense of rejection of Nazism, a stable idea of the inevitability of punishment for crimes against humanity.
The session «Crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices against the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War: documentary heritage» is attended by Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus A.K.Demyanuk, who presents the report «Documentary heritage of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus on the genocide of the civilian population of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War», and Director of the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents A.N.Gonchar with the report «Audiovisual Documents on the Genocide of the Belarusian People in the Funds of the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents».
