On the solemn initiation into the profession and the conduct of an excursion for young specialists of the Dzerzhinsk Central District Hospital

On October 20, 2022, the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents was visited by young specialists sent for distribution to the Dzerzhinsk Central District Hospital. They were given a tour of the archive building. Of course, the funds of the archive and the documents stored in them attracted great attention of doctors and nurses. The leading archivist of the department for the use of documents and information, M.D. Romanova, introduced the audience to the history of the archive, the types of documents stored in the fund, the scientific reference apparatus and the peculiarities of searching in it. During the further excursion, the guests got acquainted with the work of the technical control department, witnessed the restoration and preventive measures carried out by the workers of the laboratory for the restoration of documents. The head of the document digitization department, A.S. Tyukhay, introduced the employees of the Dzerzhinsk Central District Hospital to the intricacies of the document digitization process, explained the principle of the scanner. The most interesting moment was the demonstration of the work of the movie camera, assembled by A.S.Tyukhay himself. After the tour, the guests were invited to the cinema hall of the archive to watch the film «Biography of my Republic», dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War and the crime of the Nazi invaders in the territory of occupied Belarus.

After the tour, a solemn initiation of young specialists into the profession of a doctor took place. The chief physician of the Dzerzhinsk Central District Hospital, Igor Alexandrovich Shamal, delivered a welcoming speech. Addressing young specialists, he emphasized the importance and complexity of the work of a physician, wished them success and professional growth.

The work of the employees of the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents on the preservation of audiovisual documentary heritage made an indelible impression on the participants of the excursion, which will become a good basis for the development of comprehensive cooperation and partnership between the BGAKFFD and the Dzerzhinsk Central District Hospital.
