Events for the Day of People’s Unity at the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art

The Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art takes an active part in preparing a number of events for the Day of People’s Unity, which is celebrated in the Republic of Belarus on September 17.

On September 16, 2022 a general meeting of the Archive-Museum staff will be held to discuss the events of September 17, 1939 and their significance in the history of the country.

We invite you to an open lecture dedicated to the writers of Western Belarus, who took part in the September 1939 events, whose personal collections are kept in the archive-museum – Michas Mashara, Michas Vasilyok, Maksim Tank.

The event will include the opening of the exhibition devoted to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Kolesnik, literary critic, writer, teacher, born September 17, 1922.

In honor of the writer, translator, public figure, people’s poet of Belarus Maxim Tank, who was also born on September 17 and whose 110th anniversary is widely celebrated in Belarus, a virtual exhibition will be posted on the website of the archive-museum.

On September 17, 2022 from 10:00 to 14:00 the reading room of the archive-museum will host the Open Doors Day. We invite you to get acquainted with the activities of the archive-museum, the composition of its collections and to visit the anniversary exhibition of Vladimir Kolesnik.
