The State Archives of Public Organizations of Gomel Region held an Open Doors Day dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Archival Service of Belarus and the Year of Historical Memory
On September 12, 2022, the State Archives of Public Organizations of Gomel Region held an Open Doors Day dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Archival Service of Belarus and the Year of Historical Memory
In connection with the event, the State Archives hospitably opened its doors for all comers.
The first visitors of the State Archives were the representatives of Gomel regional charitable public association “Little Suns”. The public organization was founded on September 7, 2021.
The goal of the public association is to provide charitable and humanitarian assistance to orphans, children left without parental care, orphans, children with special developmental needs, children from low-income families, children and adults with cancer, etc.
Elizaveta Medvedeva, chairman of the association, told about ongoing projects, contests, cultural events, charity fundraisers.
The archive staff introduced the documents of public associations stored in the state archive and told about the composition and procedure for accepting documents for permanent storage.
The event included an excursion around the archival repository, where they showed how the documents are kept, demonstrated the reading room and the current exhibitions of archival documents and photographs “They defended Gomel during the first months of the Great Patriotic War” and “1418 days of war”.
