Personal documents of Aleksandra Yatskova, veteran archivist, employee of the Party Archive of the Gomel Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, were added to the State Archives of Public Organizations of Gomel Region

In the Year of Historical Memory and the 100th anniversary of the State Archival Service of the Republic of Belarus, the State Archives of Public Organizations of Gomel Region acquired the personal documents of Aleksandra Yatskova, veteran of archive service and worker of the Party Archives of the Gomel Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus.

The documents were given for storage by Aleksandra Yatskova’s daughter. The collection includes her biography, personal photos, work record book, party membership card, certificates, etc.

Alexandra Yefimovna Yatskova was born on January 11, 1929 in the family of employees. Her father was a political worker, her mother was a housewife.

Aleksandra Yatskova began her career in December 1948 as a telegraph operator at the Belarusian Railway. In 1968 she graduated from the Gomel cooperative technical school.

At the age of 33, she became a candidate member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in the Central District Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus in Gomel. Member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from September 1963.

In March 1951, she was hired as a receptionist at the Gomel Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus. She had worked in this position for over 18 years.

From March 1969 to June 1986, for about 17 years, she worked as a custodian of the fonds of the Party Archive of the Gomel Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus.

On May 23, 1985, on behalf of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR by the decision of the Executive Committee of the Gomel Regional Council of People’s Deputies, she was awarded the medal «Veteran of Labour» for her many years of conscientious work.

All the documents transferred to the archive will be processed, stored and made accessible for the present and future generations.
