The State Archives of Minsk Region opened a mobile banner exhibition “GENOCIDE OF THE CIVILIAN POPULATION IN THE TERRITORY OF MINSK REGION DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR 1941-1945”

On 23 July 2022, as part of the Year of Historical Memory, the State Archives of Minsk Region opened a mobile banner exhibition “GENOCIDE OF THE CIVILIAN POPULATION IN THE TERRITORY OF MINSK REGION DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR 1941-1945” on the Memorial Complex “Mound of Glory”.

The documents on display testify to the inhuman crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices, committed against the civilian population, women, children and the elderly people, who suffered all the hardships and horrors of the Occupation regime.
The exhibition is unique in its collection of documents: acts of the Extraordinary State Commission and other bodies for the investigation of the crimes of the Nazi occupiers, evidence of eyewitnesses, reports, special messages, reports of Party and Soviet bodies, conclusions of investigators and forensic experts.

The archive documents are the most important proofs of the committed atrocities, which are called to testify the facts of genocide of peaceful Soviet citizens, to remember and immortalize their names, and to find previously unknown facts of atrocities and criminals who escaped punishment. Crimes against humanity have no statute of limitations.

The exhibition of documents is a tribute to the memory of the dead and promotes historical justice, strengthening the principle of the unity of the nation, morality and patriotism.
