Presentation of the book from the series «Without Statute of Limitations» in Bobruisk
On 27 June 2022, the Local State Archives in Bobruisk held a presentation of the collection of documents and materials «Without Statute of Limitations. Belarus: the crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices against the civilian population on the occupied territory of the BSSR during the Great Patriotic War. Mogilev Region».
In his opening speech, V. I. Kurash, Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, spoke about the great work to popularize the documents of the Great Patriotic War, which is carried out in the archive industry. He noted that the project «Without Statute of Limitations. Belarus» has shown that the Belarusian archival institutions can solve the most complex tasks in publishing serial multi-volume documentary collections. The Director of the Department pointed out that the Belarusian archivists have created a great scientific groundwork in the study of various aspects of the Nazi occupation policy.
A. K. Demyanyuk, Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (NARB), briefly informed the participants about the preparation of the series «Without Statute of Limitations. Belarus», emphasizing that more than a thousand documentary evidences of Nazis crimes against peaceful population of Belarus were published in the six edited collections.
S. V. Kulinok, Candidate of Historical Sciences, head of the publications department of the NARB, told about the composition of the documents on the Mogilev region, their features and information content. He noted that as a result of the great work done, it was established that the Nazis and their accomplices destroyed partially or completely at least 1655 rural settlements in the region.
A. S. Maymusov, Head of the Main Department of Justice at the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee emphasized the importance of such editions for patriotic education of the younger generation. He also noted the great importance of archival primary sources in preserving the historical truth about the events of the Great Patriotic War.
