Archivists of the State Archives of Minsk Region visited their colleagues from the State Archives of Scientific and Technical Documentation

On 7 June 2022, the director of the Belarusian State Archives of Scientific and Technical Documentation A. Zapartyko held a tour to the Archives building “From the church to the archive (1648 1872 2022)” for employees of the State Archives of Minsk Region.

The excursion was planned as part of the International Archives Week and the 100th anniversary of the State Archival Service of Belarus.

The event aroused great interest, since the modern Belarusian State Archives of Scientific and Technical Documentation is located in the building of the former Church of St. Joseph of the Bernardine Monastery, founded in 1624. Since November 1991 to the present, two Belarusian state archives have been operating in the church building: the Archives of Scientific and Technical Documentation and the Archives-Museum of Literature and Art.

Employees of the State Archives of Minsk Region got acquainted with the history of the Belarusian State Archives of Scientific and Technical Documentation, its building, structure, activities, and also visited the archive repository.
