“My Family Member is an Archivist” action at the National Historical Archives of Belarus in Grodno

As part of preparations to the 100th anniversary of the State Archival Service of the Republic of Belarus, the National Historical Archives of Belarus in Grodno is holding an action “My Family Member is an Archivist”.

On 1 June 2022, the family members of the Archive’s employee E. V. Melnik had an opportunity to visit and get acquainted with the place of her work.
E. V. Melnik’s family visited the archives and learned how the files are stored and what conditions are necessary for this, and also visited the laboratory of special processing of archival documents and acquainted with the process of their restoration.

The guests also had a tour of the exhibition hall, learned about the history of the formation of the archives, viewed the exhibits of the “Archivist’s Corner of the 19th-20th Centuries” and the expositions timed to the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian Archival Service and the Year of Historical Memory.

The visit to the archives left a great impression of the scrupulous work of the archivists and aroused interest in studying the history of Belarus.
