Board meeting of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus held on June 1, 2022
On 1 June 2022, the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus held a board meeting at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus to discuss the issues “On the condition and volume of permanent and personnel records held in temporary storage in government agencies and other institutions-sources of acquisition for state archives as of January 1, 2022” and “On the work on labor protection at the national archival institutions”.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus O. N. Kot, members of the Board of the Department, heads and specialists of the structural subdivisions of the Department, heads of the central and regional archival institutions.
On the first issue, the Board noted that as of January 1, 2022, 7591 organizations are registered in the state archives (state – 5262, non-state – 1351, public (state-public) associations (organizations), including political parties and their organizational structures – 980). Of them the managerial documentation is held in temporary storage in 7394 organizations; film-, photo-, phono- and video-documents – in 160 organizations.
As of January 1, 2022, 2,741,847 files of permanent storage for the years 1899-2021 are held in the organizations-sources of acquisition of state archives, of which 1,905,583 (69.5%) are included in the inventories. The highest percentage of prepared files belongs to state-run organizations.
On the second issue, the Board noted that in order to ensure healthy and safe working conditions and to reduce the risks of industrial injuries, the national archival institutions take appropriate measures provided by the Action Plan of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus on labor protection for 2022, the Action Plan for labor protection of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice for 2022.
To implement the measures of the State Program “Labor Market and Employment Promotion” for 2021-2025, the national archival institutions carried out the events dedicated to the World Day of Labor Safety to examine the issues of labor protection and fire safety rules, the condition of workplaces, compliance with labor protection instructions, maintenance of journals on labor protection.
In order to ensure the safety and health of workers, to exclude cases of industrial injuries by identifying violations of labor protection rules and taking measures to eliminate them, the national archival institutions conduct Weeks of Zero Injury, as an additional measure to the daily work on labor protection.
