Transfer of documents of the participant of the partisan movement Pavel Kulgavy

The National Archives of the Republic of Belarus keeps the personal documents of the participant of the partisan movement Pavel Kulgavy (memories, diplomas, medals, photos). The documents were transferred by his relative Valentina Gorovtsova.

During her visit to the Archives, Valentina Gorovtsova had a unique opportunity to see the original documents of the partisan detachment “Fight”, the brigade “Uncle Kolya” (from January 9, 1944, the brigade “People’s Avengers”), in which Pavel Kulgavy was active member, as well as his personal file.

Director of the Archives Andrey Demyanyuk thanked Valentina Gorovtsova for the presented documents and noted that during the Year of Historical Memory it is especially important for the National Archives to replenish and preserve the documentary heritage of our parents and grandfathers who defended Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

Pavel Kulgavy’s documents joined the collection of the participants of the Great Patriotic War and the database of partisans and underground fighters who were active in Belarus during the Great Patriotic War.
