The State Archives of Brest Region was visited by the staff of the Main Department of Justice of the Brest Regional Executive Committee

On 14 April 2022, the employees of the Main Department of Justice of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, Brest Regional Bar Association and Brest Regional Notary Chamber had an excursion in one of the buildings of the State Archives of Brest Region at Engelsa Street, 8. The building was constructed in 1988 for the Party Archive of the Brest Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, and in 1992 it was transferred to the Brest State Archives. In 2012-2017, it was renovated and modernized at the expense of the regional budget.

Currently, the building contains archival documents from the years 1919-1939 and 1941-1944, in all more than 500 000 files.

The Director of the Archives Anna Karapuzova introduced the guests to the history of the archive and told them about its main activities.
The guests got acquainted with the methods of repair and restoration of archival documents in the laboratory, visited the archival repositories where they could assess the conditions of storage of archival documents.

The participants also visited the Scientific Reference Library of the Archives, where more than 20 000 various printed publications are stored.
